Commercial Insights Analyst

Ampol is seeking a Commercial Insights Analyst to turn financial and business data into meaningful insights that support decision-making across Supply, Trading, Commercial, and Finance teams. This role combines data analysis, financial modelling, reporting, and stakeholder collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

1. Analyze financial and commercial data to identify trends and opportunities.
2. Build and maintain financial models, dashboards, and reports.
3. Develop Power BI reports and data visualizations.
4. Validate business performance and profitability data.
5. Create P&L and EBIT reporting frameworks.
6. Support monthly reporting and business reviews.
7. Present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
8. Automate and improve reporting processes using Python and other tools.
9. Document processes and reporting standards.

Requirements

✅ 5+ years of experience in commercial analysis, finance, or related roles

✅ Degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Marketing, or similar field

✅ Advanced skills in:

1. Excel
2. SQL
3. Power BI
4. DAX
5. Python (required)

✅ Experience with SAP and financial reporting systems

✅ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

✅ Ability to work with multiple teams and stakeholders
