Role Summary
This role is for an experienced engineer (4–8 years) who will design transmission lines using tools like PLS-CADD. You’ll handle complete projects, work with clients, and grow into a senior position.
Key Responsibilities
- Design complete transmission line systems from start to finish
- Make engineering decisions (structure placement, sag, tension, clearances)
- Work with clients, project managers, and field teams
- Use tools like PLS-CADD for design and analysis
Daily Tasks
- Design overhead and underground high-voltage lines (69kV–500kV)
- Perform modeling, calculations, and routing plans
- Create project estimates, timelines, and design options
- Run engineering studies (cable selection, system performance)
- Prepare drawings, reports, and technical documents
- Ensure all designs meet industry standards
- Coordinate with teams and vendors to deliver projects on time
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering
- 4–8 years of relevant experience
- Experience with PLS-CADD or similar tools
- Knowledge of high-voltage systems
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or GIS
- Ability to perform engineering calculations
- Good communication skills for remote teamwork
Preferred Skills
- EIT or PE certification (or working towards it)
- Experience with tools like ETAP, CYMCAP, or LPILE
- Experience with utility projects or custom steel pole design

- Independently complete transmission line designs
